Mississippi Land Bank is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Senatobia, Mississippi with six full time branch offices and four satellite offices that service the 32 counties in Northern Mississippi. With approximately $750 million in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the Farm Credit System.


Associate degree in business administration, accounting or a related field or equivalent experience plus five (5) to seven (7) years of professional experience.


Manages wire transfers, deposit and disbursement accounts, and lockbox operations.  Approves and initiates movement of funds amongst accounts according to customer needs and requests.  May handle complex issues and problems.  May act as a lead or first level supervisor.  Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.  Performs work with a high degree of latitude.


  • Primarily responsible for the application of installment payments as they are received at the administrative and branch levels.
  • Serves as the primary personnel for processing accounts payable invoices upon receipt and approval.
  • Inputs loan and funds held drafts into the loan accounting system in accordance with the appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Processes branch requests for transfers of funds.
  • Assists senior-level accounting staff as needed with providing assistance to association branch offices in the use and maintenance of the loan accounting system and related interfaces (i.e. PAID, lockbox, Q2 Central, etc.).
  • Verifies accuracy and completeness of repetitive accounting documents, identifies discrepancies, resolves issues, and determines appropriate course of action according to established procedures.
  • Serves as the primary backup and assists daily, as needed, with the processes of customer identity verification, loan and funds held disbursements, and electronic funds transfers, among others.
  • Performs reconciliation of key accounts for the Association.
  • Supports the efforts of the records retention function and assists with scanning and organization of documentation to be retained.
  • Suggests and implements new and improved procedures.
  • Operates specific accounting system applications for data entry, information retrieval and/or inquiry.


  • Operates a variety of standard office equipment according to detailed instructions which may include computers, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines and scanners.
  • Performs other duties to assist in the function of the department as requested by the supervisor.


General knowledge of accounting/financial systems. Specialized knowledge of terminology related to legal descriptions and underwriting standards related to title examination. Specialized knowledge of association bylaws, policies and procedures. General knowledge of accounting/finance principles. Skilled in oral and written communication. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to perform accounting data entry, information retrieval and/or inquiry under close supervision.
