JOB TITLE: Loan Documentation Specialist II

Mississippi Land Bank is a financial institution that provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness and rural real estate purchases and improvements. The institution is headquartered in Senatobia, Mississippi with six full time branch offices and three satellite offices that service the 32 counties in Northern Mississippi. With over $800 million in assets, the institution is a cooperative and part of the Farm Credit System.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma plus three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience.

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Performs post close reviews on all loans made within 45 days of closing the loan to ensure the loan was made to an individual or entity that exists and that the necessary documentation is included in the loan file. Conducts reviews of Association branch offices. Conducts at the request of management, specialized or targeted reviews. Will issue report to management of findings of reviews on a regular basis. Assignments are broad and complex in nature requiring originality, ingenuity, and leadership. Has appreciable latitude for decision making. With the implementation of the Farm View, the program will require more of a “pre-closing” review so the processes will change. With that change in mind, this position will be responsible for the collection and verification of necessary documents for loans. Prepares loan closing documents, forms, notices, and loan reports. May work with large complex loans. May provide leadership and/or mentoring to subordinates. Possesses knowledge of subject matter.
*With the implementation of Farm View, the essential functions for this position will also change. However, to what extent, will not be known until management is further in the implementation phase. These functions will shift from a thorough review post-closing, to a review and verification process prior to closing followed by a lighter review to ensure all documentation is in the file and uploaded in the Hub. Position could transition to fall under Loan Operations and if so, direct report would be changed.
Knowledge of necessary documentation to make a complete loan file. Establishes and maintains a variety of loan records. Possesses understanding of standard processes and procedures. Performs work under general supervision. Specialized knowledge of terminology related to legal descriptions and documentation of real property. Specialized knowledge of title commitments/policies and underwriting standards related to title examination. Specialized knowledge of Association bylaws, policies, and procedures. General knowledge of accounting/financial systems and principles. Skilled in oral and written communication. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for limited periods of time. Ability to climb stairs multiple times during the day with ease. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
