Customer Spotlight – Daniel & Jacelyn Brooks - Together in the Good Years and Not-So-Good Years

Daniel and Jacelyn Brooks farm the rich bottomland of Tate County, Mississippi, growing grain and cotton where they both grew up. Daniel’s roots are in a small hay and cattle farm, inspired by his father’s hard work, while Jacelyn learned farming and business values from her family in Independence, MS. Together, they’ve grown their operation—and with that growth came the need for better grain storage. Grain bins let them store harvests, time sales, and reach new markets like poultry feed plants.
Behind those improvements is a relationship that’s been part of the Brooks’ journey from the beginning—their partnership with Mississippi Land Bank. Daniel first walked into the Land Bank office in his early 20s, and though they didn’t know him then, they took the time to understand his goals and help him get started. Through the good years and the not-so-good years, that relationship has remained strong. Mississippi Land Bank’s flexible financing gave the Brooks family the ability to invest in grain storage, improve their marketing options, and keep their farm moving forward year after year.
For the Brooks family, farming is more than a job—it’s a way of life rooted in hard work, problem-solving, and faith. Each day brings a new mix of challenges, from deciding when and what to plant, to finding the right markets for their crops. “It humbles you,” says Jacelyn, “to see how God makes your dream come true.” From the fields to the grain bins, they stand as a visible reminder of the opportunities the Brooks have embraced—and the support that’s helped make them possible. With Mississippi Land Bank by their side, they’re ready to keep growing, keep learning, and keep building the legacy of their farm for the next generation.
